REGISTRATION

After your online registration you will get an confirmation e-mail including your login data for the REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SYSTEM, where you can pay your registration fees and book and pay optional events including social events, the conference dinner and satellite workshops. Please be aware that your registration and abstract submission will only be considered valid after receipt of the completed registration fee payment.

Important Dates:

  • Early registration & submission of abstracts to be considered for oral presentations - extended until August 25th, 2019
  • Notification of general abstract acceptance - August 7th & August 28th, 2019
  • Early registration fee payment and all who submitted early abstracts - extended until September 4th, 2019*
  • Late poster only abstract submission – until September 26th, 2019
  • Late poster only submissions registration fee payment – extended until October 17th **, 2019
  • The application for a FEMS ECR Grant must submitted in the registration system until October 14th
  • Notification on decision on oral or poster presentation - October 14th, 2019: e-mails have been sent!
  • Notification on FEMS ECR Grant application status - October 16th
  • Book your accomodations using our form - extended until October 16th, 2019
  • Late registration fee payment deadline (participants without abstract) - until November 22th, 2019

* If full payment has not been received until September 4th, 2019, the late fee will automatically be applied and the abstract cannot be considered for a talk presentation.

** if full payment has not been received until October 17th, the abstract cannot be accepted for a poster presentation

Conference Dinner & Social Events

Participation at the conference dinner and other social events is optional and can be booked and paid (including any accompanying persons) in the registration system. For more information on these events please refer to the Social Events page.

Satellite workshops

Three optional satellite workshops are taking place on December 6th, 2019. The registration fee for each workshop is € 50,-. Since the workshops are taking place in parallel only one workshop can be chosen. Forr more information on the workshops please check the workshops page.

* For ÖGMBT members with an active and paid membership a member discount voucher code is available after login at the ÖGMBT website and can be entered during the payment process. For Austrian scientists or scientists who are working in Austria and want to become ÖGMBT members, please register first for membership HERE.

The registration fee includes:

  • Admission to all sessions
  • Congress bag with program book
  • Access to the exhibition area
  • Lunches and coffee breaks

All prices are in Euro. ÖGMBT is exempted from tax, so no sales tax is accounted.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation deadline is the August 13th, 2019. Before the date fees will be refunded with a deduction fee of € 90,-. After the cancellation deadline no refunds can be granted. Notice of cancellation must be made in writing by email to the congress office. Other payments such as for social events or workshops are not eligible for any refunds. Some events will only be held if a minimum number of participants are reached. If an event is cancelled participants will be refunded.

PAYMENT

All payments are made via the online registration system and can be made after the registration process is completed.

We offer several options for online payment (available options may depend on country) via our new payment processor Mollie which can be selected when placing an order:

Registration will only be valid upon receipt of the full payment according to the deadline indicated.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

All abstracts must be submitted using the online registration system. Submitted abstracts will be considered for poster or talk by the scientific committee and all participants will be automatically notified via e-mail on August 7th of the acceptance of their abstract. The selection of the accepted abstract for a talk or poster presentation will be communicated on October 9th. The acceptance and selection status of your abstract is also available via the registration system.

Please prepare an abstract consisting of a title (250 characters max.), up to 14 authors and an abstract body (2500 characters max.) . In the online editor you may use simple formatting elements such as bold, italic, underline, super & subscript and special characters in both the title and abstract.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Please submit your presentation on a USB-Stick in PDF or MS Office format to the technician in the lecture hall in the break before your session. A windows presentation laptop will be provided. The beamer resolution is 1920x1200 and the projection screen has 16:9 format..

POSTERS

Poster presentations: Please prepare a poster max. size DIN A0 (841 x 1189 mm), portrait format (upright). There will be two poster sessions, each having two parts (presentation of even and odd poster numbers). The number of your poster can be found in the poster table on the scientific program page.

FEMS ECR Grants

This meeting is selected by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) to offer grants for congress participation for Early Career Researchers*.

Eligibility

To apply for this grant, you would need to meet following requirements:

  • be a member of a FEMS Member Society* or be recommended by such a member
  • be an Early Career Scientist**
  • be an Active Microbiologist 
  • be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)

* Find out if your society is a FEMS Member at https://fems-microbiology.org/member-societies/ 
** These are active microbiologists who obtained the highest academic degree - Bachelor, Master or PhD - less than five years prior to the application deadline date, or are a Master or PhD student.

Application process

To be able to apply for the grant the registration fee must first be paid in full and an abstract must be submitted. Successful applicants will be reimbursed after attending the meeting. The application for a FEMS ECR Grant is available in the registration system. A maximum of up to 600 EUR will be granted to successful applicants to assist with travel and accommodation (Registration fees are not included).

Deadlines

The application for a FEMS ECR Grant must submitted in the registration system until October 9th - extended until 14th. The decision about the awarding of a grant will be communicated on October 16th.

SATELLITE WORKSHOP REGISTRATION

Participants of the miCROPe2019 Symposium are eligible to register for the satellite workshops taking place on 6th December within the REGISTRATION SYSTEM where also the payment for the workshops can be made. Since the workshops are taking place in parallel only one workshop can be chosen. Abstracts for the workshops should be sent separately, as described within the respective workshop information leaflet.

Participation in a workshop without attending the miCROPe 2019 symposium: This is not possible using the registration system. Please instead register directly with the workshop organizer.

SATELLITE COURSE REGISTRATION

Please note: The registration and general management for the „Advanced microscopy techniques for plant-microbe interaction analysis” training course, taking place 25th-29th November, does not use our registration system and is handled completely separate as described within the course information leaflet PDF .
