Social Events

To make your stay in Vienna an exciting event we have organized a variety of scocial events to complement the scientific program. Secure your participation for each event by booking them online via the registration system (login required). Additional tickets for accompanying persons can also be added in the booking system. Participant numbers for social events are limited and will be assigned on a first come - first serve basis.

IMPORTANT: Please note that booking and payment for social events is only possible via the registration system and SEPA bank transfers are not possible for social events. Hard copy tickets for the events will be provided at the venue by the organizers. All prices include all handling and transfer fees.Some events will only be held if a minimum number of participants are reached. If an event is cancelled participants will be refunded.

Conference Dinner @ Heurigen

Date/Time: 4th December 7 p.m.
Location: Winery Fuhrgassl-Huber, Neustift am Walde 68, 1190 Vienna
Departure and return place: near the conference venue (by bus)

Return: from the Heurigen at 10:00

We will have a great time together at the Conference Dinner, which is supported by the mayor and governor of Vienna, at the Winery Fuhrgassl-Huber with authentic Austrian Food and relaxed atmosphere. A bus is organized to bring us from the venue to the Heurigen and after a few memorable hours back again. Buffet style dinner with appetizers, main dishes and desserts, soft drinks and wine are included in the ticket.

A “Heuriger” is a typical Austrian wine tavern which is traditionally run by a wine farmer who sells his own wine. Located in the heart of Neustift am Walde between vineyards and the Vienna Woods the Winery Fuhrgassl-Huber with its cosy parlours and romantic patio has been a popular wine tavern for almost 30 years.
The architect of the Winery Fuhrgassl-Huber was Professor Walter von Hoesslin, the stage designer of the Vienna Opera House.

Secure the ticket for you and for your accompanying persons by booking it online within the registration system. Please do not forget your name badge and your vouchers (will be handed out on-site for the Conference Dinner).

Historical City Tour by Bus

Date/time: 3rd December 4 p.m. - 7p.m.
Location: departure at Schönbrunn (venue) by bus
Booking until 14th November (The tour starts with at least 40 participants, max participants: unlimited)
Price 35 EUR per person

This guided tour will give you an overall impression of the most significant historical sights of Vienna. Along the Ringstrasse we show you numerous grand buildings, such as the MAK (Museum of Applied Arts), the State Opera House, the magnificent Museum of Fine Arts with its world famous art treasures of the Habsburgs and the Natural History Museum,  etc. Will see the famous HUNDERTWASSER HOUSE.
We visit the Belvedere Palace garden which houses the largest and most precious Gustav Klimt collection in the world.

Christmas Market Schloß Schönbrunn - Culinaric Deluxe Package

The Christmas Market Schloß Schönbrunn enchants the hearts of young and old alike with its magical Christmas atmosphere on the splendidly illuminated Parade court of Schönbrunn Palace. Nearly 80 exhibitors from all over Austria and the neighbouring countries will create an extraordinary Christmas season experience.
The exclusive products of the market include traditional handicrafts, nostalgic toys and lovingly designed Christmas decorations made of glass, wood, ceramics, paper and tin. The culinary menu offers plenty of punch and mulled wine variations as well as Austrian delicacies such as "Bauerngröstl", "Kaiserschmarrn", sweet chestnuts or gingerbread.

Daily performances of choirs, gospel groups and brass band in front of the festively lit Christmas tree will ensure a musical Christmas mood.

The "Culinaric Deluxe Package" includes 1 Schönbrunn ceramic souvenir mug, 1 Meal & 1 Hot Drink of your choice


Schönbrunn Palace - guided special evening tour in englisch

Forty rooms and forty fascinating stories spanning three centuries.

A visit to the piano nobile at Schönbrunn Palace today begins at the Blue Staircase. The tour of the imperial apartments and the magnificent state rooms includes the residential suite of rooms occupied by Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Elisabeth in the west wing, which are furnished in nineteenth-century style, the state rooms in the central section of the palace, the imperial apartments of Maria Theresa and Franz I Stephan, and the Franz Karl Apartment, which was occupied by Franz Joseph's parents, Archduchess Sophie and Archduke Franz Karl.

Applestrudel workshop basic

Are you also a passionate Apple Strudel Gourmet? For all the do it yourself - apple strudel fans who want to know how it's done, our Strudel workshop is the right event. Guided by our pastry chefs you will discover how the traditional Viennese apple strudel is prepared. We show you in a relaxed atmosphere, how to roll and pull the dough until becoming paper thin and many more tips & tricks for the perfect applestrudel. Under supervision of our confectioners participants will learn how to make the original strudel-dough and produce a traditional Viennese Applestrudel. Participants will receive a certificate, which enables them to carry the title “Wiener Apfelstrudelbäcker” (“Viennese Applestrudel-baker”) after completing the workshop.
